J. Arleo, MD

Dr.
Robert Arleo obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hofstra University
where he graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa
Honor Society. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the State University
of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center, Brooklyn New York where he
graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha
Honor Society. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and
Residency in Ophthalmology at the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse.
Dr. Arleo started practice in Ithaca, New York in 1994 and became Board
Certified in Ophthalmology in 1995 by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr.
Arleo is a Clinical Investigator for Alcon Laboratories. He lectures
nationally on cataract instruments and techniques. Dr. Arleo has advanced
training and certification in excimer laser surgery for astigmatism,
myopia, and hyperopia and was the first refractive surgeon in the region
to use the LADARVision 4000 system.

Philip
Lempert, MD

Dr.
Philip Lempert attended the University of California at Berkley and
City College of New York where he received a Bachelor of Science in
Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School
in 1962 and completed an internship at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn
New York in 1963. As a flight surgeon in the Air Force he performed
research on protective devices for flight personnel, eye examinations
on candidates for special Air Force programs, and was an ophthalmology
instructor for Flight Surgeons. He was stationed at the School of Aerospace
Medicine, Brooks Air Force, San Antonio, Texas. He completed his residency
in Ophthalmology and a Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He attended Hadassah Hospital,
Jerusalem, Israel where he received a Fellowship in Retinal Diseases.
Dr. Lempert started practice in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and became
Board Certified in Ophthalmology in 1971 by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr.
Lempert is a Lecturer at the Department of Applied and Engineering Physics
and a visiting Fellow in the Department of Physiology at Cornell University,
Ithaca, New York. He is co-developer of the EyeCon 5 - a comprehensive
computerized vision testing device. He has also developed a visual and
cognitive vision tester. Dr. Lempert holds two patents on methods and
apparatus for imaging and analysis of ocular tissue. He has lectured
extensively on the usage of lasers and computers in Ophthalmology and
has many published articles and letters on these subjects. His current
research focuses on Amblyopia and optic nerve dysversion with hypoplasia.
